RC BOWLING – ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON Back to News Main
Gramiak Bowls Two Perfect Games During League Competition

Date: 2/24/2010
The varsity RC bowling squad, under second year coach and RC alum, Tom Byrnes ’71, finished in first place in the highly competitive Union County Conference. The team only lost one conference game the entire year. Also, the team captured the coveted Union County Team Championship in early February, rallying from a 80 pin deficit after the second game to overtake Scotch Plains in winning the tournament.

Junior Joe Gramiak was the individual tournament champion for the second straight year. Gramiak also bowled two perfect 300 games during league competition.

Joe, along with Senior Lou Clemente carried the two highest averages in league play. Rounding out the starting five were seniors Nick Ramirez and Danny DiPaola, along with first year starter, Freshman Danny Tanelli.

On February 13th, the team captured the North Jersey II Group 1 State Sectionals at Jersey Lanes in Linden. The following week the team finished in third place in the Group 1 State finals to complete a very successful bowling campaign.
