Pride of the Lions Fund
2013 Campaign // Girls Locker Room Renovation
The purpose of the Pride of The Lions Fund is to underwrite the annual athletic budget, as well as to fund long-deferred improvements to the school’s athletic facilities.
For 2013, the campaign’s focus is the renovation of the Girls Locker Room. The current state of the Girls Locker Room is in sharp disparity to the prestige and stature of Roselle Catholic Girls Athletics -- the Varsity and JV Girls Volleyball teams dominating the UCT Finals in 2012 … the JV Girls Basketball team winning the 2012 UCT … the Varsity Girls Basketball program winning 3 consecutive titles - 2009, 2010, 2011.
The long-deferred renovation of the Girls Locker is not only needed, it’s a must, to ensure the
continued excellence of Roselle Catholic's Girls Athletic programs..
This year, your gift can be designated in one of three ways:
1. Girls Locker Room Renovation: A restricted gift to the renovation.
2. Friends Of: A gift directed to support the operational costs for an individual sports program.
3. Unrestricted: An unrestricted gift will go where it is needed most.
All contributions to Pride of The Lions Fund are tax deductible.
We respectfully ask you to consider making a gift to this year’s Pride of The Lions Campaign, to provide the young ladies of Roselle Catholic, both those now attending and those who will follow them, with the locker room facility they deserve. We promise you it will be a worthwhile investment.

PRIDE OF THE LIONS FUND
Roselle Catholic has a rich tradition of academic excellence and athletic achievement.
Our student-athletes have consistently provided leadership while at RC - in the classroom, the community and on the field of play. The lessons learned both academically and in sporting competition have prepared fifty-plus years of RC student-athletes for tremendous success in their careers, communities and family lives.
To keep its tradition of athletic excellence and Roselle Catholic’s distinctive sporting values alive, the RC community and alumni have established the “Pride of the Lions Fund.”
The purpose of the Pride of The Lions Fund is to underwrite the annual athletic budget, as well as to make long-deferred improvements to the school’s athletic facilities. This year, the campaign’s focus is the long overdue and much needed renovation of the Girls Locker Room, which the school hopes to undertake this summer.
A gift to the Pride of The Lions Fund helps the school in many ways. By helping to underwrite the athletic budget, and this year, the locker room renovation, more of the school’s resources can be devoted to Roselle Catholic’s core academic, social, spiritual and moral missions.
RENOVATION OF THE GIRLS LOCKER ROOM
When the west wing and gym were completed back in 1963, the complex included two locker rooms -- the larger of the two contained gym lockers for every student in the school, then all boys. The smaller was the called “Varsity Locker Room,” to be used by athletes in season.
When the school first admitted girls in September 1983, the Varsity Locker Room was dedicated to their use. Other than minor modifications to accommodate the girls, the room was not otherwise changed, staying in the same condition it had been in since its completion in 1963. Nor has it been changed since.
The administration proposes to gut and replace the entire space that currently serves as the Girls Locker Room: to remove and discard the existing lockers and replace them with new ones; to replace the existing bathroom with a new one; to replace the existing showers; to upgrade the room with new lighting and windows, as well as more storage space, which is sorely needed.
The estimates for the project are between $100,000 and $120,000. Initial funding has already been received from private donations and foundation grants.
It is the intention of the Pride of The Lions Campaign for 2013 to raise the remaining funds needed to undertake this renovation project. Assuming that the funding can be secured, the work can be initiated and completed over the summer of 2013.
